Crohn’s & Colitis Support

3rd Monday of the month, 7-8:30 PM.

Crohn’s, Colitis, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) present an array of challenges; however, it does not mean it’s impossible to lead a happy and fulfilling life. Patients and their families are invited to join us to share and learn about what others are doing to maintain health and create a life of balance. Materials and resources are provided by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

Note: We do not meet in December, January, June, or July.

Steady U (A Matter of Balance): Preventing Falls…One Step at a Time

Coming in Summer 2018! (8 weeks). Pre-registration required.

Did you know falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalization and death among Ohioans aged 65 and older? Or that falls are NOT a normal part of aging? Most falls CAN be prevented! Join us for this workshop, presented in partnership with the Council on Aging. Learn to view falls and the fear of falling as controllable issues by setting realistic goals for increasing activity and changing your environment to reduce fall risk factors. This program is for you if the following applies: you do not do things you used to enjoy because you fear falling, you want to improve your flexibility, balance, and strength, you have fallen in the past, or you are concerned about falls. Dress comfortably for roughly 25 minutes of sitting/standing exercises that go along with this great educational program led by people just like you!

Yoga

Take time to unwind, clear your mind, and find balance with gentle yoga. Instructor, Spiritual Director, and Lutheran Diaconal Minister Becky Mastalerz leads classes at just $10 per session — one-third of the normal course fee, as a result of Journey to Hope’s sponsorship. A yoga mat or towel is recommended. No experience needed.
